| Shero was a true innovator as an NHL coach-- well ahead of his time in many ways, such as the introduction of an assistant coach and studying European hockey as well as the North American game.
He deserves a large share of credit for the Flyers' two Stanley Cup victories and convincing win over the Red Army team.
The omission of Shero from the Hockey Hall of Fame is glaring.
